Ten Commands from God

Commandment 3 · Honour God’s name

The pencil jar surprise

A surprised girl and her friends look at pencils spilled across a classroom table.

You reach for one pencil. Your sleeve catches the jar. Clatter, clatter, clatter! Every colour rolls across the classroom floor. You feel embarrassed, and a careless phrase using God’s name is about to tumble out too.

Start with what God says
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.Exodus 20:7 · King James Version
